Thanks Chris! I’ve been tracking how much time I put towards different aspects of my career since I started grad school, and starting last semester, I added time spent commuting as a category I keep track of. Last semester, about 25% of my time spent doing school/work things was just on public transit getting to/from those locations.
Someone told me about a study recently that said length of commute correlates strongly with happiness (shorter commutes = more happiness). No wonder everyone in NYC is stressed, right?
I also chose to track my public transportation because as a new yorker there so many other ways to get around without the use of a car. That the delay and traffick make people more angry do to it making them late or rush.
